William Bahnfleth is Professor of Architectural Engineering at the Pennsylvania State University. His research focuses on energy efficient and cost effective systems for indoor air quality control, with emphasis on control of infectious aerosols with germicidal ultraviolet light. Dr. Bahnfleth holds BS, MS, and PhD degrees in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and is a Registered Professional Engineer. He is a past president of ASHRAE (formerly the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating, and Air-Conditioning Engineers) and a Fellow of ASHRAE, the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) , and the International Society for Indoor Air Quality and Climate (ISIAQ).
